A dean's letter is required for medical students and hands-on experiences. The letter should confirm the visitor's status as a current medical student and authorize them to participate in the clinical experience.
Your dean's letter need to have the following information:
- Student's full name
- School's full name
- Specify a degree program
- What year the student is in school
- Whether or not they will receive credit for the rotation
- That the student is in good standing
- That the school authorizes and recommends the student to attend: the specific program
- During the specific dates at the specific location
- With the specific preceptor
- That the school expects the student back when the experience is complete to complete their degree program
The letter must also:
- Be on school letterhead
- Contain the dean's signature
- Contain the school stamp
