Do I need to speak English to participate in an AMO rotation?

Yes, AMO requires proof of English proficiency to rotate.

We do require proof of English proficiency for an individual to participate in the clinical experiences we offer.
Regarding the English proficiency requirement, AMO can accept a any of the below listed:
  • If your medical school education is/was taught in English, then a letter or other document from your school containing that statement will suffice.
  • Alternatively, a passing TOEFL, IELTS, USMLE, OET, ESFMG, or any other equivalent exam will also be considered.
  • We also accept proof of US, Canadian, or UK citizenship.
  • If you do not have any of the above, then you can schedule a Zoom meeting an advisor or with your coach
Our goal is to not disqualify anyone but to make sure your English is proficient enough to have a good experience.
