Yes, please speak with your physician about your LOR early in the rotation. Let him or her know how you would like to receive the letter. If requesting your letter be uploaded to ERAS, please follow the steps provided below:
Instructions for Requesting an LOR
Create an AAMC Account
a. Go to https://services.aamc.org/eras/lorportal to create an account.
b. Input your personal information
c. Select whether you are a medical student, resident, or fellow.
d. Create a username and password for your account
e. You will receive a confirmation email for your account. You will need to click on the link in the email to complete the account registration.
f. Use your name and password to sign into your account.
Send LRF (Letter Request Form) to the doctor's or administrator's email
Please make sure to include:
• Full name
• Name of university
• ERAS Letter ID #
• Dates you are applying to residency
• The dates of your program
When you send your request to the doctor or administrator please make sure to CC firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can assist you if need be.
Please allow for four to six weeks for your LOR to be uploaded or sent to the point of contact given at your university or institution. If it takes longer than the aforementioned time, please notify us and we will follow up with the office to ensure your letter be uploaded or sent to the point of contact given.
