It will be your responsibility to arrange travel to and from the United States. STA Travel provides a small discount to individuals participating in an AMOpportunities program, which also allows you to reserve a flight with only a deposit before your visa interview with the full balance payable once your visa is granted.
It is important to familiarize yourself with prohibited items for airline travel. Do NOT pack or bring prohibited items to the airport. Visit www.TSATravelTips.us for a complete list.
Make sure you get acquainted with your area’s most convenient form of transportation.
• Public transportation in the United States varies significantly from city to city. Several of the major U.S. cities have a dependable, comprehensive train and bus system. Others have very little public transportation. You can also search for information on the public transportation of other cities online.
• Taxis are common in big cities. You can either order one by phone or flag one down on a busy street. You can also pick up a taxi at the local airport, train station, bus station, and in front of major hotels. If you're not staying in a large city, finding a taxi is more difficult.
• Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are very popular in the U.S. They allow you to enter your location and your destination in an app on your phone, and a driver will pick you up and deliver you to your destination.
• If you have any questions about transportation methods or how to use them, please contact AMO.
